RULES
Registration is based on your own assessment of competition level and participation is carried out based on self-assessed ability. No medical control will be carried out by the organizer, participants are responsible for their own health and wellbeing during the competition.

BASIC PROVISIONS
1.1. The participants (and human props) must be over 18 years old.
1.2. The participant must comply with the requirements of the organizers and their representatives, follow the rules and procedures during the preparation and holding of the competition.
1.3. Judges and organizers reserve the right to disqualify a participant who violates rules at any time during the competition.
1.4. The participant or the human props must not be under the influence of narcotic substances or alcohol. This includes pain medication classified as narcotics.
1.5. Participants of the competition and people admitted by the organizational group may be in the locker rooms. Smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, and using narcotic substances are prohibited in the locker rooms.
1.6. The decision of the judges is final and indisputable.
1.7. The duration of the music for Amateur, Semi-Pro, Professional and Group is from 3:00 to 4:00 minutes, respectively Floor Play from 2:30 to 3:00 minutes. The time of the music file is counted from the first musical tone to the last musical tone. If the participant start performing before the music starts or keep performing when the music ends they will not be judged for that part. If the music is short of or over duration the participant will be deducted -5 points by the Head Judge from start. Music that contains racism or any form of discrimination is prohibited. The music needs to be sent to the organizers in its’ correct and final draft before September 30th 2025 11:59 PM. If not submitted within allotted time period there will be a possibility to get another 24 hours notice for a penalty fee of 500kr. If not submitted within that extra time it leads to disqualification. No refunds will be made.
1.8. The participant must go on stage to present their program according to the order of performances announced by the organizers. Skipping one’s turn or delaying going on stage (for any reason), entailing a delay in the program of the event, is regarded as a refusal to perform and entails disqualification.
1.9. The registration at the venue on the day of the competition must happen within the given time limit, if the participant is late they will be disqualified.
1.10. The participant has the right to refuse to perform for any reason at any time. No refunds will be made regarding any fees. If the participant decides to drop out last minute (2 weeks before or closer to the competition) without a valid reason (major accidents, death of a family member, canceled flights or sickness with a medical certificate) or do not follow the rules of the competition they will be prohibited from entering the competition for the upcoming year.
1.11. A no-show without a valid reason (major accidents, death of a family member, canceled flights or sickness with a medical certificate) will result in a prohibition from entering the competition for the upcoming year.
1.12. The Head Judge reserve the right to apply penalties at any point during the competition, or afterwards if they deem so necessary. Should this result in a change in podium position, the organizer will amend and award the medals correctly as necessary. Please note that Head Judge Penalties can be applied at any point during the competition, and disqualification may be applied post-competition.
1.13. If an athlete performs prohibited tricks for their division during their routine they will be given a five point deduction (-5) and the Head Judge reserve the right to judge them against a higher division.
1.14. There is a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and/or derogatory comments towards other participants, judges or crew members before, during and after the competition. Violating this rule will result in immediate disqualification and prohibition from entering the upcoming editions of the competition.
1.15. ”The competition” refers to the time period from when the participant register at the venue to when the judges leave the venue.

COSTUME AND IMAGE
2.1. It is mandatory to have specialized shoes – strips. For the categories Amateur, Semi-Pro, Professional and Group the height of the heel must be at least 7” (inch), respectively 5” (inch) for the Floor Play category. No restriction regarding shoe model: sandals, boots, knee/thigh-high are all allowed. This rule does not apply to human props, only the contestants.
2.2. It is allowed to remove clothing during the routine. It is allowed to show nipples, but the suit must cover genitalia at all times.
2.3. The clothes and props on stage of the participants throughout the competition must not contain advertising.
2.4. It is allowed to work in gloves, in wristbands on the hands and feet, as well as in knee pads. It is also allowed to use sports tape.
2.5. It is forbidden to use costumes, including any costume parts made of spikes and other sharp objects.
2.6. Necklaces, bracelets, rings and other metal accessories that might damage the pole are prohibited.
2.7. Body paint and/or body glitter that might transfer and can not be cleaned up within the 1 minute after the performance is prohibited.
2.8. All hairstyles, head ornaments and headwears are allowed.

RULES FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO
3.1. All photography and filming that isn’t agreed upon with the athlete before their performance is prohibited.
3.2. If the participant wants their performance filmed they are allowed to ask one person in the audience to help with this. It is of big importance that the person filming is not blocking the view for other people; judges, professional photographers or other audience members. It is the participant’s responsibility to inform the chosen person about the rules regarding filming.
3.3. No pictures or videos should be taken of anyone without their permission.
3.4. All performances will be professionally filmed and photographed with the possibility for the participants to take part of them for an administration fee. If the participant wish NOT to have their routine filmed and photographed they must hand this information to the team of Scandinavian Scandal no later than September 30th.
3.5. By agreeing to having the routine filmed and photographed at Scandinavian Scandal the participant agree for the organizers and sponsors to use filmed and photographed material for commercial use and in social media. Their name will not be used, only the filmed and photographed material.

OTHER PROVISIONS
4.1. The day before the competition and during the competition, the use of moisturizing lotions, creams and bronzers, etc. is prohibited.
4.2. It is allowed to use means to improve grip, except wax and resins that are hard to clean from the poles.
4.3. It is prohibited to use open fire and pyrotechnics during the performance.
4.4. In regards to decorations or props on stage the participant may ask for assistance. The only people allowed to assist in the set up and take down are those with stage appearance. That could be someone in the Scandal Crew, another contestant or a human prop.
4.5. The participant may use metal accessories such as chains as a prop, as long as they are not sharp. Liquids are allowed as long as they do not affect the dancer following. The participant will have a maximum of 1 minute before and 1 minute after the performance to install and remove all decorations and liquids from the stage.
4.6. Human Props are allowed in Amateur, Semi-Pro & Professional. The participant is allowed a maximum of 4 human props. Human props are allowed during the entire routine but not to interact more than 30 seconds in total of the routine. If the human prop interacts more than 30 seconds the participant will receive a -5 point deduction by the Head Judge.
Prohibited: The human prop is not allowed to assist the participant in using the poles or in any way help them to manage any transitions into elements on or off the poles (e.g throwing on to the pole, helping jump on/off the pole). The human prop is not allowed to touch the poles in any way. An automatic deduction of -5 points will be executed by the Head Judge if any of this occurs.
4.7. Racial, ethnic, religious and other discrimination is prohibited, as well as the use of racial, ethnic and religion in speeches that carry an offensive context.
4.8. At the end of the competition the participants will be handed a slip with their compiled average score of the 5 judges. If the participant has received deductions they will be followed by a written comment. No other written or verbal feedback will be given.
4.9. The top-3 placement will be announced on stage during the competition and on social media after the competition.
4.10. The organizers are not responsible for any possible injuries sustained during the event. All participants must have insurance at the time of the event. The participant takes full responsibility for their life and health during the competition.
4.11. By paying the participation fee, the participant agree to all of the above rules and regulations.
