Stage
 

Q: What are the measurements of the stage area?

A: Minimum 4*6 meters

 

Q: Is the stage leaning?

A: Not the part meant for performing.

 

Q: What floor will it be?

A: A light (greyish white) laminated floor, resembling hardwood floor.

 

Q: How high are the poles?

A: Approximately 397 centimetres.

 

Q: How far apart are the poles?

A: Approximately 2,5 meters apart.

 

Q: What material are the poles made of?

A: Stainless Steel.

 

Q: Can I choose which pole is on spin mode or static?

A: No. The pole on the right hand side seen from the audience is on spin mode and the pole on the left hand side seen from the audience is on static mode.

 

Q: Will I be able to rehearse my routine/inspect the stage?

A: As a competitor you will get one minute on stage to test your music file. You may try the poles and stage floor during that time.

 

Q: May I move outside the stage area?

A: Not during your routine.


 

Props

 

Q: Will my human prop be allowed to watch the day we are not competing?

A: No. Human props need a ticket on the day they are not in a routine.

 

Q: When is the last day to submit and pay for human props?
A: 30/9 is the last day to submit and when submitted you’ll get an invoice to pay within 10 days.

 

Q: Can I bring my own lamps?

A: Generally, no. Contact us if you have further questions about this. Remember to submit your light preferences at 30/9 the latest.

 

Q: Are there any possibilities to use smoke machines?
A: No, we do not have any possibility to use smoke machines.


 

Routine

 

Q: Can I change my music after submitting it?

A: No, what you originally submit is what we use. Music is to be submitted at 30/9 the latest.

 

Q: Will I be able to send in my music of choice early to ensure that no one else uses the same song?
A: No. Once you’ve sent in your music of choice that is final and no changes will be made. So make sure you’ve sent in the right version and that you do it in time.
 

Q: Will I receive subtraction in points if I am moved up a category?

A: No, but a penalty subtraction will be made for forbidden tricks in your performance that will follow you to the next category.

 

Q: Can I ask to be moved from my category to another?

A: No. You as an athlete can not change categories but the head judge can move you up a category (not down) during competition day.

 

Q: Will I receive my points this year?

A: Yes, after the prize ceremony on the day you have competed. The score is final with no possibility to overrule.
 

Q: Can I choose my lightning preferences?
A: You will have the opportunity to wish two (2) colors for your routine. Our light technician will make the final decision and match the light to your music.
 

Q: Is there a maximum length for the presentation/bio?
A: Your bio should be a maximum of 50 words. It is wise to write it in English since we have international judges, athletes and audience.


 

Venue

 

Q: Will there be someone at the venue for questions that might pop up?

A: Yes. Our athlete managers will be on set, so will our volunteers and Scandal Crew. Look for SCANDAL CREW t-shirts and you’ll know who to grab!

 

Q: Can I buy food and drink at the venue?

A: Yes.

 

Q: Will there be an area or space to get ready?

A: Yes, athletes will have a dressing room for this and a designated area for warm-up.


 

Competition weekend

 

Q: How long before the start of the competition do I have to register?

A: All athlete competing this year will receive further information regarding this questions as soon as we have set the schedule.

 

Q: Can I watch the other athletes perform?

A: Yes. All our athletes are welcome to watch both days of Scandinavian Scandal. Although you must be backstage in time for your routine.

 

Q: May I interact with the judges?

A: Not during the day before and the same day you are competing.


 

Other Q’s

 

Q: If I need to forfeit my spot, will I get a refund?

A: No, we will not be able to offer your money back regardless of the reason to not compete.
